Insert a File in the Document Footer MS-Word 2007


Many times when working with documents, we may want to include a file in the document footer. This is a relatively simple procedure. Below will explain how to enter the file path to include files into Word 2007. Here are the steps:

1. Open MS Word 2007
2. Click the Insert tab and then click Footer, select Blank from the drop down menu.
3. Once you come to see that the Header and Footer appear simultaneously and you will immediately switch to Design tab.
4. Refer to the Insert tab of Design, and then click Quick Parts, then click the Field ...
5. Field dialog box will appear on the screen. Under the category, select Document Information. Under the File Names select FileName, then the far right gave a check in the checkbox box Add Path to File Name. Click OK.
6. You should now have a file name or path in the footer of your document. Move your mouse cursor and highlight the new file path is inserted.
7. Now back to the Insert tab and once again click Footer. At the bottom select Save Selection to Footer Gallery.
8. You will be asked to fill in the dialog box that appears. In the Name, Type the name you want and click OK.
9. Now you will see the drop-down list of building blocks / building blocks with the name you give at the bottom of the Footer. Click whenever you want to enter information into the footer of the document.
10. Finally, after exit from Word, you will be prompted to save changes to the building blocks. Click YES and the results stored building blocks are not permanent, but you can enter the file path to the document footer.
